:: Vocational Service Project --Outstanding Vocational Service Achievement Awards::

In response to the call from the Rotary International to recognize the outstanding vocational achievements of Club members, the Vocational Service Committee of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island West organized the first Outstanding Vocational Service Achievement Awards for members of our Club. Due to the large number of qualified candidates in our Club, the Vocational Service Committee opted to choose members who have not only demonstrated outstanding vocational achievements in their career, but those who have been publicly recognized by independent organizations for their distinguished vocational achievements.

The Vocational Service Committee nominated five members, who were approved by the Board of Directors to receive our Club's Outstanding Vocational Service Achievement Award. The five Club members include:

On December 2, the Vocational Service Committee organized an Awards Presentation Ceremony at the Deep Water Bay Golf Club to recognize the recipients of the Outstanding Vocational Service Achievement Awards. During the Awards Ceremony, the Director of Vocational Service Allen Au informed Club members about the the vocational achievements about the 5 members. Souvenirs were then presented to Rtn. Bernard ChanRtn. Wilson ChanPP Daniel KooPP George Hung and PP Steve Lau for their distinguished career accomplishments. The following are some of the photos taken from the Awards Ceremony.

 
Director of Vocational Service Allen Au gave an introduction speech about the Outstanding Vocational Service Achievement Award and its selection criteria. Rtn. Allen also informed members about the vocational achievements of the 5 recipients of the award.
 
President Ernest Chiu presented a silver plaque to Rtn. Bernard Chan in recognizing his outstanding achievement in cancer research and in hematology.
