:: Community Service Project -- Youth Volunteer Day ::

The Youth Volunteer Day is a community project organized jointly by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group and the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island West. The event was held on December 2, 2001 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Chater Road Pedestrian Area in Central. On that day, 3,000 youth volunteers, 30 Rotaractors from theRotaract Club of United College and members of our Club participated in a day of events that aimed to foster the spirit of volunteer work in the local community. The opening ceremony of the event was attended by a number of high profile guests, including the First Lady of the HKSAR, Mrs. Tung Chee Wah and The Director of Social Welfare, Ms. Carrie Lam, J.P. The following are photos of Youth Volunteer Day.

The First Lady of HKSAR, Mrs. Tung Chee Wah gave a speech at the Opening Ceremony at the Youth Volunteer Day.
It was followed by a speech by The Director of Social Welfare, Ms. Carrie Lam, J.P. 
President Ernest Chiu (3rd person from right) was one of the guests of honor of the event. 

Ms. Carrie Lam visited our Club's booth and took time to chat with our Community Service Director Alex Au and Rotaractors of the Rotaract Club of United College.
